Eastern Swiss hypnotist in court: assault and unlawful confinement
A hypnotist from eastern Switzerland is appearing before the district court of Rorschach. He is accused of abusing multiple women whilst they were in a trance state.
Eastern Swiss hypnotist charged with sexual assault
As rheintal24.ch reports, an eastern Swiss hypnotist had to answer charges before the district court of Rorschach on Thursday, 4 June. The public prosecutor's office accuses him of putting multiple women into a trance and subsequently touching them in intimate areas. A verdict is still outstanding; the presumption of innocence applies.
The prosecution is seeking a prison sentence of six years and three months as well as a fine of 150 francs.
Incident in 2023: client wanted to quit smoking
An example case from 2023 illustrates the alleged method of operation: a woman consulted the hypnotist in order to stop smoking. After he had put her into a trance, he allegedly first touched and massaged her stomach and then her intimate area. On parting, he allegedly stroked her bottom and face and kissed her.
At a further meeting, he allegedly moved her clothing and again touched her intimate area and breasts. The weeping client complained of pain; she was given only a tissue.
Further allegations from 2021 and 2022
According to the public prosecutor's office, a woman suffered unwanted touching as early as 2022 – including pinching of the nipples and touching in the genital area. A comparable assault is also alleged to have occurred in 2021, preceded by several private meetings with consensual physical contact. The public prosecutor's office suspects there are further victims. Two women came forward as private prosecutors.
Unlawful confinement also on the indictment
In addition to the sexual assaults, the defendant is charged with unlawful confinement. He allegedly locked his ex-girlfriend in his flat overnight in 2022.
