Unfit driver stopped after high-speed drive through multiple villages

The Kreuzlingen public prosecutor's office has opened a criminal investigation against a 38-year-old Swiss man, according to swissinfo.ch citing Thurgau cantonal police.

Shortly after midnight, a police patrol on motorway A7 heading towards Kreuzlingen noticed a vehicle travelling at considerably excessive speed. Officers took up pursuit.

The driver ignored flashing lights, siren and the "STOP POLICE" matrix display and left the motorway at the Kreuzlingen South exit. He then continued in the direction of Schwaderloh – driving considerably faster than permitted. After driving through several localities, emergency personnel brought the vehicle to a stop at the entrance to Pfyn.

During the check, the driver was classified as unfit to drive. Blood and urine samples were taken. It also emerged that the man was behind the wheel despite his driving licence having been withdrawn.
