The lawyer of a 17-year-old girl accused of planning the murder of her mother in Loncoche has stated that her boyfriend opposed the homicide and only made contact with the alleged perpetrator under pressure from the young woman.

Lawyer Gonzalo Canales, who represents a 17-year-old adolescent and her boyfriend implicated in the homicide of a 53-year-old woman in Loncoche, Region of La Araucanía, presented a version that differs from the prosecution's thesis regarding the role the young man allegedly played in the events.
The victim's body was found last Sunday inside her home. Preliminary examinations indicated that the woman had sustained more than 80 injuries, including stab wounds and multiple fractures. This severity led detectives to rule out that it was an attack by strangers and to focus the investigation on the deceased's close circle.
The prosecution, headed by regional prosecutor Roberto Garrido, maintains that the minor and her partner agreed to pay 60,000 pesos to another 17-year-old youth to commit the murder. Among the motives that allegedly drove the crime were prolonged family problems and the mother's rejection of her daughter's romantic relationship.
However, Canales asserted that the boy did not support the idea of eliminating the victim. "Here there was a dysfunctional family, with internal problems, and this would have led the daughter to arrange, despite her boyfriend's refusal, to carry out an action of this nature," the lawyer told the press following the hearing.
The defence lawyer added that the young woman suffered from psychological disorders which, in his assessment, were never diagnosed or treated in time. In that context, he indicated that the boyfriend ended up communicating with the third person involved only due to his girlfriend's repeated insistence. "The boyfriend, due to his girlfriend's repeated insistence, contacts this third person, who would have been the material author," Canales clarified.
Regarding the alleged payment, the lawyer denied that money changed hands. "There was no transfer of money either before, during, or immediately after the fact," he assured.
The minor faces a charge of parricide, whilst the other two youths are under investigation for qualified homicide. All three remain subject to precautionary measures as the investigation proceeds.
