Three people were arrested and authorities seized over 600 kilograms of marijuana in the framework of an investigation that dismantled a drug trafficking network that operated between the Tarapacá region and Santiago.

According to a report from Radio Maray, the police operation succeeded in dismantling the criminal organisation dedicated to drug trafficking between the north of the country and the Chilean capital. The seizure exceeded 600 kilograms of cannabis, constituting one of the most significant blows against drug trafficking in the area in recent times.

The three detainees were placed at the disposal of the judiciary whilst investigations continue to determine the full scope of the organisation and the possible involvement of more people in the illegal activity.
