A pair of women were arrested at the capital's air terminal when they were about to depart for Madrid, after it was confirmed that the tickets had been paid for with money withdrawn from a third party's bank account.

The operation was carried out by members of the SIP belonging to the 55th Police Station of Pudahuel. The detectives arrived at the airport after a victim reported suspicious activity on their card, corresponding to the purchase of two tickets bound for Europe.

The investigators managed to identify the suspects, who had scheduled their flight for Wednesday evening. Through coordination with the airline, the officers located them in the passport inspection area and detained them before they could board the aircraft.

The detainees, aged 25 and 26, were placed at the disposal of the courts. The case remains open whilst investigators seek to determine whether there are additional victims in this offence of unlawful appropriation of financial instruments.
