A 27-year-old man was killed in the early hours of Thursday as he was about to enter his flat in the heart of Santiago. The crime occurred at the corner formed by Avenida Matta and Santa Elena, in Santiago commune.
According to initial information gathered by the Police Investigation Service, the victim was returning to his home at around two in the morning. At that moment, an individual who was travelling on a bicycle intercepted him and opened fire, causing his death.
The aggressor is believed to have acted alone. Police authorities continue working to clarify the motives that led the cyclist to commit the crime, as well as to locate his whereabouts.
