A police operation that began as an investigation into cattle rustling concluded with the capture of an individual accused of maintaining a clandestine cannabis greenhouse and trafficking in drugs in Chile Chico, Aysén.
The intervention was carried out on Tuesday evening, near half past eight, when uniformed personnel arrived at a residence on Los Ríos street. The agents had a warrant issued by the local Public Prosecutor's Office.
Upon entering the location, the officers detected a characteristic aroma of marijuana. The subsequent inspection revealed the existence of approximately twenty marijuana plants and a package containing one hundred fifty grammes of the product.
The representative of the Public Ministry, Estefanía Leiva, filed a request for provisional imprisonment of the arrested individual. Magistrate Guillermo Frene accepted the request and established an investigation period of two and a half months.
