Remand in custody for man accused of homicide in Recoleta
A judge in the capital ordered the remand in custody of a 29-year-old man linked to the murder of a 32-year-old, recorded on 11 May in a property in the Recoleta district.
The arrest came after joint work between the Centro Norte Homicide Unit of the PDI and prosecutors on the case, who identified the alleged perpetrator through various investigations.
According to an account from a detective with the specialist unit, the victim and the aggressor were in discussion in a residence on Samuel Escobar street. The altercation turned violent, apparently due to long-standing disputes related to drugs. During the struggle, the accused allegedly used a sharp cutting instrument, leaving the victim with serious head wounds and a stab wound to the chest that caused his death.
The prosecutor in charge reported that the court formalised the investigation for simple homicide and granted three months to complete the inquiry.
