New arrests in Nicosia in drugs and firearms case
Police have made arrests of two people, aged 45 and 31, in operations by the police drug unit. Narcotic substances and electronic devices were found.
New arrests in Nicosia in drugs and firearms case
In a case concerning the discovery and confiscation of illegal substances and firearms, the authorities have proceeded with the arrest of two further suspects.
The first is a 45-year-old man. On Saturday he was brought before the Nicosia District Court, which approved his five-day detention.
Before the arrest, officers from the police drug unit conducted a search of his residence. There they found a small quantity of cannabis, scales bearing traces of a white substance, two mobile phones and other items.
Additionally, with a court warrant, police officers from the drug unit arrested a second person, aged 31, yesterday. During a search of his place of residence, a smartphone, a laptop, a telephone card and an external hard drive were seized.
The 31-year-old is expected to be brought before the same court today for the issue of a detention order.
The Nicosia division of the police drug unit is continuing its investigations.
