Pursuit with police helicopter
According to swr.de, a 16-year-old fled from a police patrol on Sunday at around 21:00 in Buchen (Neckar-Odenwald district) after officers noticed an incorrect number plate. The driver accelerated to speeds of up to 120 km/h within the town and raced off in the direction of Walldürn. He completely ignored stop signals and loudspeaker announcements.
During the flight, the teenager drove over forest and field paths and partly directly across open fields. At Höpfingen, he stopped the vehicle, whereupon the 16-year-old and his 14-year-old passenger fled on foot. Police deployed a helicopter and eventually found the driver at his parents' home.
Officers searched the boy's room on the orders of the state prosecutor and seized his mobile phone and the vehicle. A drugs test came back positive for THC. The investigation is ongoing.
