Apple warns German politicians of spyware on mobile devices
Apple has warned members of the Bundestag and government representatives of spyware. Among those affected is Green Party leader Franziska Brantner.

Cyber-attack on politicians' devices
Green Party federal chairwoman Franziska Brantner is among the recipients of an Apple security notification warning of professional spyware. After receiving the notification, she immediately switched off her device, according to Der Spiegel, and informed the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). Government spokesman Stefan Kornelius stated on Monday that the federal government is taking the incident "very seriously".
According to the BSI, in addition to Brantner, several Bundestag members and other public figures are affected. According to Der Spiegel, those warned include, among others, fellow travellers from Chancellor Friedrich Merz's recent Asia trip as well as staff from federal ministries, journalists and senior executives of German companies.
Apple warned users worldwide in 99 countries last week of the attack using professional spyware. Specific measures or perpetrators have not been named so far. According to hasepost.de, at least seven members of parliament are among those affected in Germany – including one party leader.
