The National Police are searching for a suspected member of the Army accused of firing at two men at midnight on Friday at a grocery store in the Los Frailes II sector of Santo Domingo Este, according to elnacional.com.do.
The institution's spokesman, colonel Diego Pesqueira, identified the suspect as Martín Encarnación Vicente. Both the Police and the Public Ministry are working on locating him.
The incident took place at the Los Gozosos grocery store, located on Calle Roca Cueva. The victims, Frannis de la Paz Pérez, aged 42, and Antonio Rosario Medina, died from gunshot wounds, according to the body removal reports.
Initial investigations, together with testimony from the business owner, indicate that an argument—the reason for which was not specified—led to the gunfire. The suspect fled the scene on foot following the incident.
At the scene, the Scientific Police collected two 9-millimetre shell casings and other items related to the investigation.
