Three International Fugitives Detained in INTERPOL Operations in Dominican Republic
The National Police apprehended three men wanted by the authorities of France, the Netherlands and Chile, and received a Dominican citizen extradited from Argentina, according to a report from diariolibre.com on Wednesday. The operations were coordinated by the National Central Office (OCN-INTERPOL) Santo Domingo.
French citizen Romain Cairfarland Eleuthere was detained on 26 October at Las Américas International Airport (AILA) when he was preparing to travel to the British Virgin Islands. French authorities identify him as the principal suspect in a murder that occurred in Guadeloupe in February 2026.
On the same day, officers arrested Dominican national Modesto Brand Javier in Santo Domingo Este, wanted by Chilean authorities for his alleged participation in a homicide committed in Santiago in November 2024. The Police indicated that the suspect sought by the Netherlands—identified as Porru—had used fraudulent Spanish documents to conceal his identity.
In a separate process, the National Police received Cristian López, alias Emerson, on 31 October, extradited from Buenos Aires following an operation coordinated between Dominican and Argentine authorities. López faces charges of alleged criminal association, homicide and illegal possession of firearms for incidents that occurred in May 2024 in Villa Consuelo, National District. In that incident, one person died and a 14-year-old adolescent was wounded by gunfire.
The institution reported that all those detained remained in the custody of the competent authorities to continue with the corresponding judicial proceedings.
