A property located in Mapasingue, northern Guayaquil, was raided by National Police officers as part of the 3D Operational Strategy. The residence, according to evidence, was being used as a storage facility for illicit substances and weapons for the criminal faction known as Los Choneros.
During the operation, a 35-year-old man identified as Diego Armando C. M. was arrested, facing suspected links to criminal activity. The institution noted that the detainee had previously been prosecuted for theft and drug trafficking.
Items seized included forty kilograms of cocaine, forty-five kilograms of cannabis, three assault rifles, one handgun, four magazines, seventy-five rounds of ammunition and a mobile phone. Each item was entered into the strict custody system for analysis as part of the investigation.
The uniformed institution explained that these operations are aimed at reducing the supply capacity of criminal networks engaged in drug trafficking and related activities. The arrested person and the seized materials were handed over to the relevant courts.
