On Thursday, officers from the National Police carried out an operation in which they apprehended five adult individuals and separated one adolescent, who would be part of the group responsible for the death of the finance manager of a higher education institution in the Ecuadorian capital.
The homicide was recorded on 11 June of the current year. Following this incident, the Public Ministry opened an investigation that concluded with the raids executed during the present day.
In the residences raided, police officers seized technological equipment that could contain useful data to clarify the motives and perpetrators of the attack. The confiscated material includes smartphones, computing equipment and external memory units.
The competent judges will soon rule on what precautionary measures will be applied against each of those involved, after reviewing the body of evidence obtained in the searches.
