An operation carried out in the parish of Guayllabamba, in the northern zone of the capital, resulted in the detention of an individual who, according to authorities, produced and sold sexual exploitation recordings directed at minors. During the raid, a six-year-old girl was freed.

The accused, named Juan Carlos M. V., operated under the pseudonym "2RINGGSSMAN" on social networks to sell the illicit material. Investigation indicates that seven girls—aged two to seven years—were used to create such recordings. Among them would be his own daughter.

Nearly three hundred photographs and more than one hundred videos of child pornography were discovered on the seized equipment.

The investigation began on 9 June under the direction of the Public Prosecution Office against Organised Crime and Illegal Trafficking of Migrants. With the collaboration of Homeland Security Investigations, a United States agency, it was possible to locate the suspect and execute the arrest warrant.

During the flagrance hearing, held in the early morning of 13 June, the prosecution requested and obtained a preventive deprivation of liberty measure.

Ecuadorian regulations provide for sanctions of between 22 and 26 years of imprisonment for those who commit this type of crime against minors with whom they maintain a family relationship, as provided for in article 103 of the COIP.
