The Ecuadorian government deported two individuals originally from Colombia who had active arrest warrants in their country. One was found in Quito and the other in Ibarra.

The Ministry of Interior of Ecuador ordered the expulsion of two individuals born in Colombia who maintained active arrest warrants in their territory, considering that both constituted a danger to citizen security.
The first intervention took place in the Iñaquito sector, located in the capital. National Police agents located one of the subjects and, after establishing communication with Colombian officials and examining his migration status, determined that he faced criminal charges for alleged offences of attempted murder, robbery and aggravated theft. Additionally, an active arrest warrant weighed against him in Colombia linked to the crime of theft. In light of this, the authorities carried out his removal from the country and handed him over to officials from the neighbouring country so that they may proceed with the pertinent judicial proceedings.
In another operation carried out in Ibarra, law enforcement detected a second Colombian national who had three active arrest warrants for alleged offences of criminal association, aggravated theft and unlawful possession of firearms. The Ministry of Interior ordered his expulsion and, in accordance with applicable regulations, imposed a ten-year restriction on entry to Ecuadorian territory.
These measures form part of the actions that the Ecuadorian executive implements to strengthen internal protection and prevent individuals with a criminal history from remaining in the country.
