Officers from the National Police succeeded in apprehending two individuals linked to an armed assault perpetrated at a jewellery store in the northern sector of Guayaquil, according to a report by Ecuavisa.
The criminal act occurred at a commercial establishment dedicated to the sale of valuable items located in that area of the city. Following the robbery, law enforcement forces launched the corresponding investigations which resulted in the arrest of the two alleged perpetrators.
The detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent authorities so that corresponding criminal responsibilities could be determined. The case is part of the wave of violence and insecurity affecting Guayaquil, where robberies of commercial establishments have become a frequent phenomenon in recent years.
The police are continuing their investigations to establish whether those captured belong to any criminal organisation or whether they have involvement in other similar incidents that have occurred in the port city.
