A member of the National Police was found dead on the morning of Tuesday, 3 November in the quarters of La Delicia Police District, located in northern Quito, according to eluniverso.com.
The institution itself confirmed the fact through an official statement, in which it noted that the case is being preliminarily investigated as a suspected self-inflicted death. However, the National Police clarified that there is not yet a definitive conclusion regarding the circumstances of the incident.
After learning of what had occurred, officers coordinated immediately with ECU911 and with specialised units of the institution to activate the corresponding procedures, preserve the scene, and facilitate the carrying out of forensic examinations.
In their statement, the National Police expressed their regret at the death of the uniformed officer and extended their condolences to his family members, colleagues, and friends. The competent authorities continue with proceedings to clarify the facts.
