National Police detained a doctor in San Juan de Aznalfarache (Seville) as a suspected perpetrator of a crime against sexual liberty, according to larazon.es. The investigation was initiated following a complaint related to events that occurred during a medical consultation.
According to the complainant's account, the physician allegedly touched intimate areas of her body without her consent during the examination, as well as carrying out other actions which, in her view, were unrelated to the medical tests that prompted the visit.
The woman explained that at the time of the events she did not know how to react, owing to the situation of trust inherent in healthcare. It was only later, after reflecting on what had happened, that she decided to file the complaint.
From that point onwards, investigators set in motion the necessary steps to clarify the circumstances of the case and gather sufficient evidence. Police enquiries allowed the investigation to progress until sufficient grounds were established to proceed with the arrest.
Once the proceedings were concluded, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
