Sentence for cocaine trafficking in Palma

According to diariodemallorca.es, the Provincial Court of Palma yesterday sentenced a drug trafficker to four years in prison who distributed cocaine to homes whilst travelling by scooter through the city. The accused, of Senegalese nationality and with a record for drug trafficking, acknowledged the facts during the hearing following an agreement between his lawyer and the Prosecutor's Office.

Between September and December 2022, the man operated in Palma using the scooter as a means of transport to make deliveries. The National Police investigated the activity and executed a search at his home, where they found 380 grammes of cocaine of high purity as well as various cutting substances.

The Prosecutor's Office had charged him with an offence against public health with an aggravating factor of recidivism—the convicted man had previously been sentenced for the same offence both in Mallorca and in Ibiza—and requested eight years in prison and a fine of €300,000. Following the agreement between the parties, the sentence was reduced to four years in prison and the fine to €200,000. The court issued its ruling on the day.
