Reinforced operation in Valencia prevents disturbances

According to levante-emv.com, the Local Police of Valencia identified 105 people on Saturday afternoon during a police deployment in the city centre to prevent disturbances linked to a Blocus mobilisation circulated on social media.

The operation resulted in the seizure of a plastic gun and two balaclavas. Officers drew up three reports for drug possession, one for fireworks and another for the seizure of four masks. The Local Police doubled the number of officers compared to those planned for the night, maintaining the reinforced deployment throughout the early hours of Saturday to Sunday.

According to Valencia City Council, the joint deployment of the Local Police and other State Security Forces deterred mobilisations by groups seeking to provoke disturbances and looting in shops. The authorities warned of "zero tolerance" against violent and uncivil acts. The Government Delegation will report on reports, identifications or arrests when the operation concludes in the early hours of Sunday.
