A fire broke out in a terraced house in Kirkkonummi during the night of Sunday. The rescue service contained the fire to the premises where it started and rescued three cats from the flat — no injuries were sustained. Crime Commissioner Jutta Saarinen declined to comment on whether the criminal investigation is linked to the fire in question. According to a message conveyed through the communication department of the Western Uusimaa police, she cannot provide more detailed information for the sake of safeguarding the investigation.

The oldest of the accused was born in 2004, the two younger ones in 2007. The oldest resides in Kirkkonummi according to official address records; the younger ones have concealed their address information but state on social media that they also live in Kirkkonummi.

One of the accused has a previous criminal history. A 19-year-old man has been convicted of four drug use offences, which occurred in 2023 when he was 16 years old. The sentence was 30 day fines, totalling 180 euros. Additionally, he has been charged with at least drink-driving offences and violent resistance to a public official.
