Central Finland police received an alert on Saturday afternoon shortly before 3 p.m. regarding an act of violence. The incident took place in a detached house in the Linnavuori neighbourhood in Nokia.
Authorities who arrived at the scene established that a woman aged approximately 50 had attacked an adult man with an axe and struck him on the head. The man was taken to hospital, and his life is not in danger.
The woman suspected of the act was detained at the scene. She is suspected of attempted manslaughter, but the charge may be changed during the criminal investigation.
According to authorities, the perpetrator and the victim knew each other previously. Police are keeping the investigation details confidential to protect the preliminary investigation.
