Three accused of frauds worth €98,000 against elderly people in Elis

Five frauds against elderly people, with a total value of stolen money and jewellery of €98,000, have been solved by the Pyrgos Subdivision for Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes, according to Dikastiko.gr. The offences were committed in September in areas of Pyrgos and Andritsa.

A file has been compiled in the case against two men and one woman, whose full details have been identified by the authorities.

According to the results of the preliminary investigation, the accused were active between 3 and 28 September. They contacted elderly people by telephone, presenting themselves as accountants. Under the pretence of recording cash and valuables, they asked them to place them in specific locations inside their homes — and then removed them.

The file compiled against the three accused will be submitted to the Prosecutor of the Court of First Instance of Elis. Police investigations are continuing, as authorities are examining the possibility of the same individuals being involved in other fraud cases in the area.
