Young network distributed drugs even in schools – 10 arrests in Central Greece

Ten members of an organised criminal group that operated in drug distribution in Karpenissi, Lamia and Livadeia — including in school buildings — were arrested on 22 October 2026, according to In.gr.

The operation was carried out by the Department for the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes in Karpenissi in cooperation with the corresponding Department in Livadeia, in areas of Boeotia, Eurytania and Phthiotis. Among those arrested are the "leadership" figures of the organisation.

The preliminary investigation that preceded this was lengthy. From its results it emerged that the group had been operating at least since the beginning of 2026, with a hierarchical structure and distinct roles for each member.

One of the accused is a minor. Four members face additional charges for theft, violation of weapons legislation and illegal possession of flares and fireworks.

During searches of the homes of organisation members and in the possession of those arrested, narcotics were seized, as well as two passenger vehicles, two bicycles and an electric scooter that were used to facilitate the illegal activity.

The case file formed includes 34 additional individuals who were found to have purchased narcotics from the organisation. Three additional members have been identified and are being sought.

The arrested individuals will be brought before the District Prosecutor's Office of Eurytania. The General Regional Police Directorate of Central Greece announced that operations to combat drug distribution will continue.
