A 38-year-old was arrested in Thessaloniki after receiving a postal parcel containing 2,090 grammes of raw cannabis from the USA.

According to In.gr, the Organised Crime Countermeasures Directorate of Northern Greece arrested a 38-year-old Greek man in Thessaloniki, who is accused of violating drug legislation.
The Drugs Prosecution Coordination Body (S.O.D.N.), following prosecutorial approval, assigned to the Drugs Prosecution Department the investigation of a case concerning a postal parcel originating from the United States of America. The parcel was found to contain 2,090 grammes of raw cannabis.
A police operation followed, during which the accused was immobilised and arrested at the moment he was receiving the parcel. During a search of his residence and possessions, additional evidence was found and seized.
The arrested man has been of concern to authorities in the past for similar offences and is to be brought before the competent prosecutor.
