Four men aged 20-27 were released following an investigative procedure for the football fan attack on a 47-year-old in Rethymno.

Perpetrators of fan attack in Rethymno released with restrictive conditions
Late on Tuesday evening, the judicial decision was announced for the four young men who attacked a 47-year-old in Rethymno with football fan motivations, according to ERT. The investigative procedure lasted several hours before the result was announced.
The four perpetrators, aged between 20 and 27, were released. Three of them are subject to restrictive conditions — a ban on leaving the country and an obligation to report to a police station twice a month — while the fourth was released without any conditions.
The attack had occurred the previous Thursday evening. The victim had just returned from a football match in Heraklion when the perpetrators attacked him in order to steal a team banner from his rucksack. During the beating, an off-duty police officer happened to be at the scene and stopped the attack, preventing more serious consequences.
Two of the perpetrators were arrested immediately, whilst the other two were identified and arrested the following day.
The 47-year-old sustained minor injuries from the blows he received and was taken to Rethymno Hospital for first aid.
