Construction fraud of 259 million forints: prosecution seeks prison time for two defendants
A Bács-Kiskun county company owner and employee defrauded a total of 252 million forints from 29 clients with promises of turnkey houses. The prosecution is seeking custodial sentences.

The Kiskőrösi District Prosecution has brought charges against two men who, through their construction company in Bács-Kiskun county, defrauded 29 clients of a total of 252 million forints, according to the Bács-Kiskun County Chief Prosecutor's Office, as reported by Telex.
The company director and his business liaison employee advertised prefabricated houses on their website and a social media platform between 2021 and 2023, then undertook at 29 locations to construct the buildings and hand them over turnkey. The clients paid deposits of between 5 and 16 million forints, but construction work only commenced after prolonged delays and further instalments were paid.
In some cases, they collected instalments until the client had paid the full purchase price – whilst construction stopped at the brickwork stage and made no further progress. Other clients were given excuses of illness, holidays or broken machinery for the delays, after which construction work was never actually begun at all.
The prosecution accuses both defendants of multiple counts of fraud committed intentionally causing significant damage and carried out on a commercial basis, and is seeking the imposition of custodial sentences. The Kiskőröski District Court will decide on the question of guilt.
