Drug dealers arrested in Dunaújváros – three remanded in custody
Three men have been remanded in custody after police suspected them of drug trafficking. The arrest took place in Dunaújváros and surrounding settlements – according to a report by Dunaújváros Online.
Investigators swooped on the suspects on 16 June. Dunaújváros police carried out the raid together with investigators from the county police headquarters and members of the in-depth inspection unit.
According to suspicion, the three men – G. A., Sz. A. and P. J. J. – have continuously procured and resold prohibited substances since last summer. They operated mainly in Dunaújváros and neighbouring villages.
During the operation, authorities brought in a total of seven people to the police station. Six were suspected of drug trafficking and one of drug possession. The three main suspects were taken into custody, and the prosecutor's office requested they be held in detention, as releasing them could result in them continuing their criminal activity.
Among the seized evidence were prohibited substances, a significant amount of cash, jewellery, mobile phones and a car. According to police information, the case has not yet been closed: the full network is still being mapped and further suspects are expected.
The court ultimately approved the prosecutor's request and ordered the three men to be remanded in custody.
