Serial thief apprehended in Esztergom – stole from flats and car
A 35-year-old man entered two flats in Esztergom in June and then took a purse and perfume from a car. Police apprehended him within a short time.

Three offences in one afternoon, drug use also revealed
According to a report from police.hu, on 14 June in the afternoon, a report arrived at Esztergom police: an unknown man broke into two flats one after another. In both cases, the owners interrupted him, so he had to leave empty-handed.
After the unsuccessful burglary attempts, the man continued trying his luck in the town. He attempted to open several parked cars, and with one he was successful – he took a purse and perfume from the unlocked vehicle.
By that point, local police already had a description of the offender, whom they recognised and brought to the police station not long afterwards. He was questioned on suspicion of theft, and two counts of attempted theft.
The 35-year-old P. Péter admitted all three acts and also stated that he had used drugs. A quick test confirmed this, so proceedings were also initiated against him on suspicion of drug possession.
