Police investigators in Veszprém County questioned a 25-year-old man as a suspect. According to the allegation, at the end of March at a political gathering in the Bakony county seat, he conducted himself in a manner that constitutes the criminal offence of hooliganism – according to a statement from the county police headquarters reported by 444.hu.
The authorities indicated that further proceedings are expected against other individuals in the future. The incident featured in a video released by police was part of a series that accompanied the Prime Minister's spring provincial visits. Dark-clad figures and coordinators who appeared to be directing them appeared in several settlements to prevent opposition demonstrations.
The footage shows a man approaching protesters standing apart from the ruling party event and snatching a banner from them. The police statement does not explicitly name whether this particular person was the one suspected.
