Man with false documents apprehended at Tompa border
On the morning of 4 June, a coach passenger was apprehended at the Tompa border crossing when he attempted to leave the Schengen area – according to Police.hu.
The man presented a travel document from South America and a Western European residence permit at the checkpoint. The documents appeared to be authentic, but the police officer on duty noticed that the owner of the documents and the person presenting them did not match.
During supplementary investigations, including on the basis of biometric data, it was established that the individual had used his brother's details. He did this because he himself had previously been deported and would not have been able to re-enter the country.
Staff at the Kiskunhalas Police Headquarters took him into custody and initiated criminal proceedings against him for misuse of false documents.
