Horticulture firm director says public contracts were awarded for pocket money
The prosecution's investigation supports claims by a park maintenance businessman, following which mayor Gergely Őrsi was also taken into custody – according to HVG.
Z. Zsolt, who worked for more than fifteen years at a group comprising horticulture businesses, stated in his account that in February 2024 he visited the home of a socialist politician. According to the man's account, he had been visiting for years, was familiar with the flat's furnishings, and even knew where the safe was kept. The purpose of the visit was to hand over cash for that year in exchange for the firm, Pannon Park Forest Ltd., continuing to be commissioned by the capital's districts to carry out green space maintenance work.
The entrepreneur maintained a friendly relationship with Zsolt Molnár, Member of Parliament, thanks to their university connections. According to the account, the money transfer took place routinely. The prosecutor's documents suggest that accepting the bribe did not present any difficulty for those involved.
