According to reporting by hodpress.hu, the Szeged Court of Appeal Prosecutor's Office has recommended that the first-instance judgment be upheld in the case in which a man sexually abused his own daughter.
According to the findings of the Gyula Court of Justice, the perpetrator raised the child alone and sexually abused her for years beginning from the age of eight. The court imposed 11 years imprisonment for the crime of continuous sexual violence, a 10-year ban from public office, and a permanent ban from activities involving minors.
The man and his defence counsel appealed the first-instance judgment, seeking acquittal, and alternatively, mitigation. According to the prosecution's position, the judgment is well-founded, the classification is lawful, and the sentence cannot be considered excessive.
The case continues at second instance before the Szeged Court of Appeal.
