Suspended sentence in case of actor who abused his child
The Gödöllő District Court imposed a one-year, two-year suspended prison sentence on actor Gusztáv Molnár for endangering a minor – reports Telex. According to the indictment, during visits years ago, the actor became heavily intoxicated on multiple occasions and behaved aggressively in the presence of his young son; it occurred that he also struck the child.
Molnár, known from the RTL series Drága örökösök and from Sztárbox, did not admit guilt and did not make a full confession, though he said he regretted what had happened.
According to the indictment, after his 2015 divorce, Molnár slapped his minor child on multiple occasions during visits and struck him with his fist on the thigh when the child tried to sleep in the car. According to the child's testimony, his father once attempted suicide in his presence, and also drove the car whilst intoxicated. When warned that he could not sit behind the wheel in an intoxicated state, he replied: "I don't care," and then drove into a tree.
In the prosecution's view, Molnár endangered his child's intellectual, moral and emotional development.
The court ordered a search warrant for the actor in February. Molnár, who was staying in Cyprus, was surprised by the news; upon arriving home from the airport, he was taken from the airport in handcuffs and in a prison van to the hearing.
