Budapest police are conducting increased patrols in the area around Kelenföldi railway station; over the past week, several hundred people were checked and multiple suspected offenders were arrested.

According to Budapest police data, twenty individuals were arrested or taken into custody from the area around Kelenföldi railway station between 9 and 17 June – reported by Index.
In the vicinity of the eleventh district railway station, police have maintained an increased presence since 28 May following complaints from residents of the area. Over the past week, four hundred and thirty-six people were checked for identity verification purposes. Of those arrested, ten individuals were already subject to warrants.
Two individuals were taken into custody for violent offences against the public, one for theft, and another for illegal possession of substances. The man involved in the drug case, aged thirty-two, was found to be carrying approximately fifty grammes of green-coloured, suspicious plant material in his clothing. According to rapid testing carried out at the scene, the man had also consumed some form of narcotic substance. Investigators from Újbuda then questioned him on suspicion of illegal possession of substances.
Officers also filed reports in eight cases for public drinking, issued fines on five occasions for public order violations, and took action once for traffic regulation breaches.
As part of the operation ongoing since the end of May, over seven hundred people's identity documents have been checked, and twenty-nine individuals have been taken to the police station.
