The Budapest Chief Prosecutor's Office has brought charges against a 34-year-old drug dealer with a multiple criminal record, who was arrested in the Canary Islands in August 2024, the prosecutor's office announced on Monday. Details were first reported by HVG.
The man had previously received multiple convictions in drug-related cases. He was first sentenced to three years in prison for possession, and subsequently to eight years in jail for trafficking. Even after this, he did not stop his illegal activities.
During the investigation, it was revealed that he sold significant quantities of various substances in the capital. Based on the seized quantities, he distributed more than eighty kilogrammes of cannabis, thirteen kilogrammes of cocaine, forty litres of amphetamine oil and ten thousand ecstasy tablets to his customers.
He organised his operations through intermediaries. His associates carried out the deliveries, bringing the drugs directly to customers.
Officers of the Ready Police National Investigation Office arrested the suspect in Tenerife. According to investigators, V. Tamás – who was an associate of K. Péter, a key figure in the ANOM case – was responsible for procuring and transporting narcotics to Hungary.
The prosecutor's office has now brought the man before the court. Due to his previous convictions, he is classified as a repeat offender and may expect a more severe sentence.
