On Wednesday, the General Prosecutor's Office opened a pre-trial investigation into a possible data theft from the State Accreditation Service for Healthcare Activities. The case involves suspicion of unlawful access to the database.
General Prosecutor Nida Grunskienė announced that law enforcement received a report from the Ministry of Health on the same day. According to her, the investigation began only a few hours before, so she cannot comment on the situation in more detail at this time.
What volume of data unauthorised persons managed to access and who could be behind this incident remain unknown. The investigation has only just begun.
