The Special Investigation Service is continuing its investigation into the so-called "vouchers" corruption case. Recently, charges were brought against three politicians from different municipalities: Irena Lunskienė, a member of Marijampolė council; Vytautas Jokimas, a member of Birštonas council; and Karolus Petkevičius, a former member of Kaišiadorių district council. They are accused of fraud, abuse of office and document forgery.

Materials gathered by investigators show that I. Lunskienė, who worked in Marijampolė municipality council from 2019 to 2021, may have deliberately submitted false expense reports. The reports contained allegedly incurred costs for fuel and internet services that did not match reality. As a result, the municipality is believed to have suffered damage of almost four thousand euros.

In addition to these three persons, a corresponding decision has been made regarding the actions of Valdas Mikalajūnas, a former member of Ukmergė district council.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Further details about the conduct of other individuals involved are not being disclosed at this time.
