Police officers from Zielona Góra have arrested a 36-year-old Ukrainian citizen who allegedly made threats against President Karol Nawrocki on social media. Officers arrested the man on suspicion of committing an offence under Article 190 of the criminal code, which concerns criminal threats.

The detainee was to face charges in the prosecutor's office on the same day. Details of the case have not been disclosed due to the ongoing proceedings.

Criminal threats in Poland are punishable by imprisonment of up to two years. In cases where the threat concerns the commission of a crime against a person close to the threatened individual, the perpetrator is subject to punishment by imprisonment from three months to five years.
