A dangerous situation occurred at the station in Kędzierzyn-Koźle in which a police officer was injured whilst carrying out her official duties. The incident took place during an intervention against two intoxicated and aggressive travellers.

The men's behaviour was disturbing the peace of other passengers on the moving train. After being escorted onto the platform in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, one of them pulled out a folding penknife. During the apprehension of the assailant, the 49-year-old struck the intervening police officer's hand.

The police officer sustained hand injuries. After securing both men, the woman received medical assistance.

Officers from Kędzierzyn-Koźle detained the aggressive passenger. The 49-year-old man was questioned and charged with injuring a law enforcement official during the performance of official duties.

The case will now go to court. This offence carries a prison sentence of up to three years.
