The Central Anti-Corruption Bureau will examine a tender in which the Metropolitan Police Command purchased shooting range trainers and simulators from a company belonging to the head of the Railway Protection Service.

The Metropolitan Police Command entered into a contract in November of last year for the supply of specialised equipment from an enterprise run by the commander of the Railway Protection Service. The matter has attracted the attention of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The purchase included shooting range trainers, multimedia training systems and electroshock weapon simulators. The estimated value of the investment was 528 thousand złoty. Three entities participated in the proceedings. The first of them proposed a price close to the baseline, the second submitted an offer for 464 thousand złoty, whilst the company belonging to the SOK chief presented the lowest quote — 342 thousand złoty.
Jarosław Garstka, commander of the Railway Protection Service, assured RMF FM in an interview that he has been conducting business activity for twenty years and informed his superiors of this before taking his position. According to Interia, the SOK chief emphasised that regulations do not prohibit him from running a company provided it is not competitive with PKP. According to his words, he earned approximately 10 per cent of the offer's value from the transaction, as he only played the role of an intermediary in the delivery.
Garstka declared that he would no longer participate in public tenders due to the current media situation. CBA officers are now to verify compliance with regulations and carefully analyse the course of the entire procedure.
