The criminal group stole luxury cars in Belgium and France, then introduced them into circulation on the Polish market after carrying out forgeries in Czechia.

Officials from CBŚP together with prosecutors from Podkarpackie investigated and broke up an organised criminal group that specialised in the theft of vehicles in Belgium and France, and subsequently in their illegal disposal in our country.
According to investigators' findings, the criminals had been conducting their activity since November 2022. They focused mainly on Peugeot brands – specifically the 2008, 3008 and 5008 models produced after 2019. Each of the stolen vehicles was worth between 80,000 and 250,000 zloty.
The scheme worked as follows: after theft, the car was taken to Czechia. There, VIN numbers were altered and forged registration documents were prepared. The car was then brought to Poland and sold as legally purchased.
As a result of the proceedings conducted, it was possible to secure 52 vehicles with an estimated value of approximately 7 million zloty.
The operation was made possible thanks to close coordination between Polish and Czech services.
