Krzysztof A., known by the nickname "Twardy", was arrested in Kyrgyzstan. The man appeared on a wanted list, among other things, for brutally beating Wojciech Kwaśniak, deputy head of the Financial Supervision Commission. His apprehension was aided by Polish "shadow hunters" from the Search and Identification Bureau.
The arrest took place in Central Asia, where the gangster was staying with his wife. During the intervention by local services, the woman resisted and fought with officers. Kyrgyz police passed discreet information to Polish investigators to expand Interpol searches as quickly as possible whilst the man remained in their custody. Authorities in Kyrgyzstan suggested they also wanted to rid themselves of him from their country.
Bogdan, one of the Polish "shadow hunters" who led to the arrest, described the details of the operation. Through international cooperation and rapid information exchange, they managed to locate and apprehend the wanted suspect.
Krzysztof A. was one of the most wanted criminals in Poland. His arrest concludes a years-long investigation and search.
