Police officers from the Lublin unit detained a 36-year-old man from Georgia. During questioning at the Lublin headquarters of the National Prosecutor's Office, he was charged with killing a 44-year-old man from Russia. According to investigators' findings, the suspect fired five bullets at the victim.
The detention operation was the result of extensive operational activities conducted by officers from Lublin and Białą Podlaskę. The commander of the local garrison decided to establish a dedicated team for the case. The wanted criminal was found during an inspection of one of the hostels in the capital region, where he was staying after committing the crime.
After being apprehended by counter-terrorism officers, the man was taken to the capital of Lublin Voivodeship and placed in a detention facility. The preparatory proceedings are being conducted by the Lublin branch of the Department for Combating Organised Crime and Corruption.
In the coming hours, the suspect will be taken for court proceedings. If found guilty, he faces the maximum penalty — life imprisonment.
