Doctor from Lubań charged with reckless endangerment of patient's life
An anaesthetist from a hospital in Lubań in Lower Silesian Voivodeship will answer in court for recklessly endangering a man to direct danger of loss of life or serious harm to health. The woman, who was on duty at the facility, refused to admit the patient.
According to the indictment, the doctor did not conduct diagnostics required by the standards of medical knowledge and medical practice. She did not initiate or perform on the patient preliminary, rapid diagnostics intended to identify potentially reversible causes of cardiac arrest.
Having failed to perform these medical procedures, she did not establish the cause of the deterioration in the health of the injured party, who was in critical condition. In doing so, she closed off his possibility of receiving help and treatment.
