On Sunday evening, just before midnight, a traffic police patrol from Pińczów noticed a driver in a Peugeot manoeuvring suspiciously. A check on Legionists Street confirmed that the 31-year-old was under the influence of alcohol – he had approximately 0.76 promille in his body.

Officers checked the detained man's details in the system. It transpired that a court had previously imposed a lifetime ban on him from driving motor vehicles. The man is from the Pińczów district.

The prosecutor's office referred the case to court under an expedited procedure. The judge issued a sentence of twelve months' imprisonment without suspension. The convicted man must also pay 10,000 zlotys for charitable purposes – to a foundation supporting victims of traffic collisions. A further 5,000 zlotys constitutes compensation. He is also liable for costs related to the proceedings.
