The night shift security team at the Academy of Military Art at Avenue Gen. A. Chruściela "Montera" 103 in Warsaw noticed a damaged window pane in one of the buildings. Inside the administrative offices, they found a man who apparently used a stone to break the glass and gain entry to the building.
According to the Military Gendarmerie report, the intruder may have been acting under the influence of psychoactive substances. Security staff immediately overpowered him and then handed him over to police officers from the Rembertów police station.
Investigators conducted a detailed inspection, secured evidence and established the identity of the detained man. He turned out to be a 38-year-old Colombian citizen. The prosecutor charged him with burglary under Article 279 § 1 of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of up to ten years in prison.
During further proceedings, it emerged that the man does not have permission to stay in the country.
The district court, reviewing the prosecutor's request, ordered the suspect held in temporary custody for a period of three months. The decision was made on Saturday, 4 July, based on procedural evidence gathered by police.
