On Monday in Biała Podlaska in the east of the country, a Russian creator performing under the pseudonym Semjon Skrepezkij was killed. The head of the Polish government, Donald Tusk, informed that the evidence gathered so far suggests a political character to this crime. He added, however, that it is necessary to await further findings from the investigation.
Officers detained two people with Belarusian citizenship following the incident, but later released them. The reason was a lack of evidence confirming their direct involvement in carrying out the murder. Tusk acknowledged that establishing the identity of the hired assassin presents a difficult challenge. He assured, meanwhile, that Polish services are undertaking all possible measures in this case.
According to the head of government, if the person who commissioned the crime turned out to be the authorities in Moscow, we would be dealing with a serious event of global scope. In such a scenario, there would be an act of state terror.
Eyewitnesses, whose statements were cited by Polish news outlets, described the manner in which the attack was carried out as an execution. Skrepezkij in his satirical works mocked Russian President Vladimir Putin, the dictator of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko, and Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the Chechen Republic, which is part of the Russian Federation.
